Physical Appearance
iKaggen is a shapeshifting being with many forms that usually prefers to stay hidden, but its most recent public appearances have been consistent enough to give it some sort of profile to reference. It has a round circular head that seemingly displays a lack of ears and mouth, although its hearing and speech abilities are very well developed, and has been seen forming ears or a mouth if needed/wanted. It has large and sharp compound eyes, and while it typically prefers to display just its eye whites, it has displayed pseudopupils with an odd red iris, overall making its eyes similar to that of a praying mantis. It has bold cyan hair styled into a flipped out wolf cut and the ends. It's constantly changing its style of bangs, but its most recent appearances has shown it with large split bangs or no bangs at all, reducing it's hairline to where it only has the hair at the back of it's head. Its body is connected by a long slender neck, connecting to an oddly proportioned and malnourished figure with exaggerated bones in its hips and ribcage. It has broad shoulders and arms that grow thicker until it ends at its knees, with large and sharp claw-like hands. Its legs are even longer, typically posing the creature at 7 to 8 feet (213 to 244 cm) tall, and it typically chooses to have round nubs at the bottom of its large calves rather than feet. It is typically seen "wearing" a sleeveless dark-colored turtleneck and low waisted micro shorts. Upon further inspection, despite how realistic they may feel, the "clothing" it wears is actually its skin, which it is very skilled at manipulating to mimic certain textures.
It is believed that millions of years ago, it took the appearance of a large prehistoric praying mantis.
PERSONALITY
iKaggen is a creature with a very troubled mental state. Its personality is very paranoid and antisocial around humans as a result of intense trauma. It is estimated that iKaggen is around 100 million years old, or older, but there's no way to be sure for certain, as the creature has only recently adjusting to the concept of time humans have created.
iKaggen was the first creature to develop a sense of autonomy and consciousness. When humans had first begun evolving, it took it upon itself to raise and guide the new species to what it believed was righteousness and success. Overtime, however, humans began wishing to deviate from the path iKaggen tried to guide them on. They began persisting with their own ideals driven by selfishness and greed for power, and no matter how hard the god tried to correct them, they fought back. There was a specific event, which iKaggen refuses to talk about, where it was driven to the point of madness, and in a fit of rage, slaughtered almost all of the village that used to house loyal followers. After overcoming such strong emotions it had never felt before, it ran away, choosing to watch humanity from the sidelines, hoping that letting the human race be free would be for the better.
Unfortunately, it was not.
iKaggen watched in horror over the years as humanity grew more selfish and how they fought over power. It watched wars and technology destroy its once beautiful earth, and cause the extinction of animals and plants. It watched humans, fight, rape, and kill over the most pointless of things. It has experienced every human tragedy along with humanity, and with each tragedy, its fear and hatred for humans grew. Within these tragedies, iKaggen would try its best to keep the damage as minimal as possible, but regardless of its intervention, there were always innocent lives of plants, animals, and humans (yes, it recognizes that humans can truly be innocent at times too) lost.
STRENGTHS, WEAKNESSES, AND POWERS
STRENGTHS
SOCIAL SKILLS
- iKaggen is very developed in social areas, and quickly picks up on any new or unfamiliar words and lingo it hears.
- So far, there has not been a language found which iKaggen is not at least familiar speaking in, if not completely fluent.
- iKaggen can be very persuasive and manipulative if it wishes to be, and has used this in the past used that to it's advantage.
PHYSICAL STRENGTH
- iKaggen is very familiar with different types of martial arts, and other forms of self defense that have been lost to time.
- Despite its current look of malnourishment and disfigurement, it is incredibly strong, with its hands alone being able to produce enough weight to crack the human skull (520lbs, 236kg).
- iKaggen is capable of running incredibly fast, and has been seen running across bodies of water.
- It's skin is incredibly durable, and so far nothing has ever been able to penetrate it.
WEAKNESSES
MENTAL HEALTH
- iKaggen has shown to be very mentally unstable in multiple ways.
- iKaggen typically lies and manipulated humans out of its fear towards humans, which eats at it's mental health at times.
- It is paranoid and antisocial to a destructive point at times, where these malicious defense mechanisms it has developed can potentially put it in situations where it becomes more vulnerable to triggers..
- Whenever triggered, it becomes incredibly dangerous. Depending on the severity, it's gone into dissociative rages where it loses control of its powers and lashes out at humans around it, whether it be emotionally or physically. iKaggen has a hard time remembering the events that take place during these breakdowns afterwards.
POWERS
SHAPESHIFTING
- iKaggen is capable of manipulating it's body's matter and shapeshifting.
- So far, there has been nothing it isn't able to shapeshift into, even being able to mimic different textures of fabric or types of woods, metals, etc..
- iKaggen does have a limit as to how much energy it uses in order to do so, but it takes a lot of effort to get to that point, and it's easily able to recover said energy afterwards.
ANIMAL CONTROL
- iKaggen's hearing is much more advanced that the human ears, so much to the point it can hear frequencies humans are unable to, including one's produced by animals.
- It's able to replicate these frequencies perfectly, enabling it to be able to communicate with and command animals of all kinds.
- Animals are very sacred to the creature, so it makes sure to use this power very carefully.
IMMORTALITY
- So far, there has been no way discovered to kill iKaggen.

MORE ABOUT ORIGIN
- iKaggen wasn't originally inspired by the khoisan god |kaggen. I had originally already came up with the concept of a "god" rejecting it's godhood status and losing faith in humanity long before I had discovered the story of |kaggen. Once I did, I felt very connected to it, and gave a similar story inspired by |kaggen's to my character.
- Originally, iKaggen's name was mine, Mantis. but I changed it to both resemble me and |kaggen. The "i" in iKaggen represents that this character is a huge part of, well, I. Me. Mantis.
- At the time of creating iKaggen, I was displaying a lot of paranoid and antisocial behavior myself as a result of very intense trauma. I was in the middle of being suspected of having ASPD (Antisocial Personality Disorder), when it was discovered I only displayed those behaviors as a form of self-defense/coping mechanism, because I was in a living situation where I felt constantly threatened or in danger, and had subconsciously convinced myself that behaving in such a way would keep me both emotionally and physically safer. This was around the time I had started giving iKaggen more of a story, so I projected these antisocial and paranoid behaviors onto iKaggen, because at the time, iKaggen was less of an OC and more of a persona.
- In terms of human psychology, iKaggen has Antisocial Personality Disorder and Paranoid Personality Disorder.
MORE ABOUT DESIGN
- I've been asked before why I draw iKaggen the way I do, and it's actually been a really big stretch as to how it started. When I had covid in 2022, my only source of entertainment during my long and grueling quarantine was my sketchbook and my phone. During that time, I was practically forced to become better at art, and in that time I spent a lot of time practicing artstyles. One of them being the Lalaloopsy artstyle. After playing around with it a bunch, I realized I really enjoyed drawing long, lanky characters, and kinda tried to apply that to a bit more of my own style, and then I soon developed the artstyle I use for iKaggen.
- I've always struggled to find references for the kind of boney figure iKaggen has, because it's not exactly easy to find humane resources of people who are deadly underweight. Recently, I've just been straight up referencing pictures of skeletons. Haven't decided if it's helping quite yet, but great anatomy practice at least.
EXTRA
- A huge part of iKaggen that I want to express through its story is that it has a very skewed sense of morals that have driven it to do some incredibly horrible things.
- Yes, iKaggen has been through hell and back, but if it were a main character, it would not be a reliable narrator by any means. Its sense of what's right and wrong have been so incredibly skewed and fucked with over the years that it can't be compared to human morality.
- You hypothetically shouldn't be holding it to human morality to begin with, because it straight up just isn't human. Applying human morality to iKaggen would be like applying human morality to a dolphin. Contrary to how it may seem, iKaggen's mind works so differently than a humans that even though it may be able to blend in with them and act like them, it isn't one and you'd constantly be reminded of that within its story.
- Even though iKaggen isn't what you'd call a good "person", it still deserves the same grace you'd give the most broken and flawed of people. Shit, my favorite character is Dexter Erotoph, a sociopath who kills animals because of untreated erotophonophilia and manipulates his sweet mother for personal convenience. If I, or you, can truly look at a man so fucked up, and still see passed his flaws because these are obviously signs of untreated trauma, then you should be able to at least try to look past iKaggen's fucked up issues. Because if we're being completely honest? iKaggen has done so much worse than Dexter.
